Ruckus & Rumour

You ever notice how a tiny spark these days can turn into a full-on wildfire overnight? That’s the world we’re living in, where cancel culture isn’t just a thing, it’s like the main event at a stadium that nobody really signed up for. One minute, someone posts a joke, a slip-up, or even a slightly unpopular opinion, and the next, boom. Headlines, retweets, subtweets, and a thousand people forming squads to drag someone into the public guillotine. And honestly, half the time, it’s based on the flimsiest rumors or misinterpreted screenshots. There’s this weird thrill to it, like people are addicted to being offended, or maybe just addicted to the rush of judgment itself.
Fake news doesn’t help either. It’s everywhere, slipping into our feeds like an uninvited guest who knows exactly how to make you sweat. And here’s the thing, we all know some of it’s nonsense, but we can’t help ourselves. We share, we comment, we fight over things that might not even matter in the grand scheme of life. It’s like arguing over the color of the sky while the planet slowly melts, but hey, at least we’re heated, right? And I get it, we want justice, accountability, someone to finally “pay,” but somewhere along the line, the line got blurry. The people who really deserve scrutiny sometimes slide under the radar while the rest of us are tangled in a chaotic web of screenshots, hot takes, and old receipts dug up from 2012.
I’m not saying anyone’s perfect or immune. I trip, I slip, I’ve jumped on the wrong bandwagon myself. But there’s a growing culture of this performative outrage, where it’s less about ethics and more about the show. And honestly, it’s exhausting. The rumour mill runs 24/7, and the ruckus it creates is louder than any rational conversation could ever hope to be. Sometimes, you just have to step back, breathe, and remember, not everything is a scandal, not every tweet is a declaration of war. But telling people that doesn’t exactly win you followers, does it?
I would also like to state that I have tried everything to get rid of the buttons bellow, as I have not set up those specific apps yet, but unfortunately nothing has worked. Please ignore, thank you!
