It’s All a Part of the Process

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the idea of “process.” Not the word you see plastered across motivational Instagram posts, but the messy, uncomfortable, slow kind that shapes you. The kind that doesn’t come with neat bullet points or a satisfying conclusion.

We like to imagine growth as a straight line: you start, you follow the steps, and you’re better. But in reality, it’s more like a wobbly dance, one where you trip over your own feet more than you glide. Every misstep, every moment of doubt, every late night panic about whether you’re doing “enough”. It’s the parts that hurt and the bits that feel pointless that make the outcome worthwhile.

Think about writing an essay for instance. You sit down with a plan, confident, full of ideas and then chaos happens. You get distracted, your argument goes off track, your paragraph collapses mid sentence. But it’s precisely in those gaps where new ideas spark, where your voice starts to emerge, where your brain decides, sometimes reluctantly, that it actually does care. If you skip that part, if you smooth over the chaos too quickly, you lose the texture.

The same applies to life outside the page. Career, friendships, personal growth, none of it is tidy. And yet, there’s a subtle beauty in that. But here’s the trick, that uncertainty isn’t the enemy. It’s proof that you’re engaged and that you’re participating rather than coasting.

So, yes, the process can feel excruciatingly slow. It can feel awkward. It can feel like nothing is happening at all. But that’s exactly when the growth is happening, quietly, behind the scenes, like a shy genius tinkering in the background while you’re busy complaining. Eventually, the pieces come together. And when they do, you realise the detours weren’t failures at all.

At the end of the day, it’s all a part of the process. And maybe the sooner we accept that, the less exhausting it gets and the more rewarding it becomes.

I would also like to state that I have tried everything to get rid of the buttons bellow, as I have not set up those specific apps yet, but unfortunately nothing has worked. Please ignore, thank you!
